In addition to creating arrangements for ourselves and friends, our members regularly participate in two annual events in the Twin Cities area. Here are photos from past years. You may also view some of our work on Facebook and Instagram (links in footer).
Como Ikebana Mum Show
Every autumn the Como Conservatory invites our chapter to display Ikebana arrangements featuring chrysanthemums accompanied by flowers, foliage, branches, and berries of the season. One of the last flowers of the growing season to bloom, chrysanthemums herald the transition from autumn to winter.
Check the Conservatory’s calendar for the November dates for this free event and come see the creative artistry our members bring to this annual show.

Art in Bloom
In 1983 the Minneapolis Institute of Art hosted the first Art in Bloom festival. This four-day exhibit is free to the public and displays the imaginative floral interpretations of selected works of art, created by more than 100 commercial florists and individual artists.
From the very beginning, members of the Minneapolis-St. Paul Chapter 121 of Ikebana International have proudly participated in this annual spring event, which draws many visitors. The MIA calendar will list the dates of this annual spring.
A core aspiration in ikebana is to create floral art that honors, enhances, and enlivens its setting. Our members are pleased to have the opportunity to share with others the beauty and enjoyment of ikebana arrangements inspired by MIA works of art.
